After years of hard work and planning, dreams for the orphanage foundation are expanding to even great possibilities.  In 2019, Soul Medicine was established in the US as a 501c3 that will be able to fund the Aama Orphanage Foundation in Nepal.

The Aama Orphanage Education Foundation (AOEF) is a not-for-profit and non-government registered community-based organization in Nepal that was established in 2007 by the residents of Khandbari Bazaar, with the assistance of Ruby and Suren Shrestha, to address the low literacy rates and orphan children.  The Foundation’s goal is to provide quality education to financially disadvantaged orphans of Eastern Nepal. AOEF aims to provide opportunities to all needy orphan children, giving priority to girls.

Profits from the sale of the book “How to Heal with Singing Bowls“, as well as a percentage of the proceeds from healing workshops and classes are donated to the building of a new orphanage in Khandbari.  The new orphanage is going to be a collaborative effort with design students from Arizona State University and it is an exciting time for all as Atma Buti and ASU students work together to create a beautiful home for the orphaned children in Khandbari, Nepal.

Goals of this project include sustainability of the building, animals and garden for teaching purposes and most of all safety and security for children in need.
